Title: Verbose Japanese Crescent-type wrench
Post by: PFSchaffner on July 31, 2015, 10:35:55 AM
Just took in a Japanese Crescent-type wrench that has a lot to say:

'8" PREMIER DROP FORGED STEEL JAW J.I.S. STANDARD SPEC FIRST QUALITY
TESTED FOR HARDNESS BENDING AND MOMENT LOAD  JAPAN'

Wondering if this indicates a particular source or context,
something other than general retail?  --
or even whether it might not be a test or sales sample.
Ironically, or maybe inevitably, the plating is well worn, the jaw is
significantly mushroomed, and the handle is bent.

(JIS = Japanese Industrial Standards)
