HeelSpur's spanner question reminded me of a pair that I have. They are identical little wrenches--except that one is 5", the other 6".
They have the spanner on one end and a 3/8" open end on the other, set at a 90 degree angle. They are obviously made to turn square nuts.
No markings at all.
What would these little buggers have been made for?

Perhaps water pump "stuffing box" adjustment? bicycle crank bearing cone adjustment? Think of places where a spinning shaft would have a bearing / liquid seal / grease seal, etc. that could be adjusted -- have to think like a late 19th Century / early 20th Century mechanic & consider what they had to work with.
