I picked up two Plomb box end wrenches yesterday at my local Habitat Restore . One is Plomb 1/2 X 9/16 number 8131. The second is also a 1/2 x 9/16 and has no number because it is a A. Plomb wrench. The A. Plomb wrench was from the second company Mr. Plomb started after leaving the first company bearing his name. I have owned a few others over the years. Sorry no pictures at this time. My camera is having a hissy fit.

Nice find. I never think to stop at a Habitat store for old wrenches and I drive by one every day.

Our Habitat store is only about 4 blocks away from my house. I try to go twice a day. As a mater of fact, i am going there now. Not only do i find lots of good tools, but i buy lots of hardware like nuts, bolts, screws and building supplies. My favorite time there is when they roll out a cart with recent donations that they have just unloaded.

I had an A. Plomb (for Alphonse Plomb) wrench a couple of years back. Combination open end/flare end. Very distinctive.
gave it to a buddy who did alot of small plumbing fittings.
I used to frequent our local Habitat store till it relocated to the other end of town.

I rarely went to the habitat store because they were across town. Then about a year ago they moved 4 blocks from my house. Remember the tv show Cheers when Norm walked into the bar ? Everybody would yell NORM. When i walk into the Habitat store they all yell CHUCK. When i walk into the store i feel like Howard Carter about to discover something wonderful.
