Title: Punch-Lok Hammer
Post by: LBJanzen on November 08, 2015, 04:47:10 PM
Hello everyone, this is my first post to the board.

I recently purchased this antique blacksmithing hammer but I'm having trouble finding history on the Punch-Lok company of Chicago, and I would like to determine the approximate age/date of this hammer if possible. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

And, now the Bad News
1, it's not an antique, still produced & sold
2, It's not a blacksmithing tool
3, It will hurt if you hit your thumb with it.

That hammer is made to work with PunchLock hose clamps, and is soft faced so it doesn't damage the mating face of the punch it hits.

Auctioneer is only honest 90% of the time, possibly lower when he says antique.

Great, thank you. Bad news or not, it's the info I was looking for. I only paid a few bucks for it.

Thanks again,

...... when he says "antique".
Maybe he was thinking of "Aunt EEK" -- with the bad startle reflex?
