Title: Plomb battery pliers
Post by: Northwoods on January 03, 2016, 10:56:34 PM
Got a box at auction last nite.  Two battery pliers in it.
One had a tiny diamond logo with US inside.
The other is marked on an inset inside the diamond pattern handle grips:
2218 PLOMB TOOL CO. L.A.
They seem identical in design with these pictured in AA except for the forging and stamping information--and mine are definitely # 2218, not 218 as in this AA picture.

I found a pair of Danielson pliers exactly like mine--except for the brand name--as well.
AA tells me that, "In the mid 1940s Danielson began providing contract manufacturing services to Plomb Tool of Los Angeles, and shortly after this (in 1947) J.P. Danielson was acquired by Plomb."
Has anyone seen any pliers like mine?

The US in a diamond is P. Lowentraut mfg. co.,
I have a bicycle wrench with that logo.
