Title: Lectrolite Tru-Fit open end
Post by: mtds on October 15, 2011, 12:25:35 PM
This Lectrolite Tru-Fit 8001 1/2x9/16 open end wrench came into my hands recently.  After I bought it I read what there was on AA, but I thought a few pictures might be of interest to this forum.  AA says this was the economy line for Lectrolite and you can see the evidence of that in the close-ups. The chrome seems fragile; the forging flash is not removed; and the wrench is thin (next to an S-K Wayne 9/16 OE, standard length). Other than these manufacturing compromises, its length is slightly interesting.  I'm wondering whether it was meant to be a tappet wrench, given the thinness and length.

It is a tappet wrench. I have that one and the next size larger-5/8 x 11/16, numbered 8002.
