Yup, McKaig, surprised I missed that
Vlchek ? that would be sweet but didn't they usually put a logo mark on it when they didn't have the written out name stamped on it? These have no other marking then the poorly stamped "Made in USA" and size.

Surprisingly there are probably more unmarked than marked, at least that has been my experience. Vlchek was and McKaig Hatch a little later were major contract producers for the automobile market back when every car truck and tractor came with a tool kit. Most of these tools were not marked to meet a price point or the customer requested them unmarked. One in your looks like it has a number forged in the shank just below the head which is often seen on Vlchek.

The 929 double box wrench may be Indestro.

You're right. To the naked eye the mark wasn't noticeable but it did show in the photo, good catch!
I went back with a magnifying glass and 3 of the 4 wrenches have a small "1" just under the head.

I believe the ABC wrench is made in Japan. I'll have to look at mine to see if it is so marked. I have four small ABC metric wrenches - they are very nice. Nice chrome a good fit and they just feel right. I have been looking for more of the metrics but not found any yet.

3/1/16 - Well I checked my A.B.C wrenches and they are not marked as to country of origin. I dunno why I thought they were Japan or other asian manufacture. They seem hard to find (have been following on eBay and finding nothing). The markings are the same as the picture above but mine are flat - no recessed area in handle.

You're welcome to this one if you want it

Sudsy, That's very generous of you. I would almost never use that size wrench so I will pass. I'm not much of a collector except of tools I can use, or to replace tools I have with better ones. I would like to know more about the A.B.C. company. Maybe I'll check Garage Gazette for info?

The bottom wrench in the very last picture marked "17" may be a post drill chuck wrench.
I don't know, but if it is 3/8" square, it could be.

It's 1/4

Oh well. Thanks

Does the 6490 wrench have any other marks on it? I ask because it looks similar to a Lakeside Forge wrench.
-
Nope, nothing
