Interesting find when cleaning out one of the ole sheds.
What might you think this was used for? What material? and what type of handle would look best, wood/Steel/Brass and what shape?
Your thoughts!

Edit: Oyah it's about 1-1/2 diameter and 4 inches long.

You can never go wrong with hickory. Maple would be great, and walnut would be beautiful!

Looks like Vincent found a piece of K copper and used it to make himself a lead mallet because he didn't have one of the molds. Probably had a steel placekeeper for the handle hole so he didn't cook the handle when he repoured.
