Title: Whitman & Barnes St. Catharines, ONT. 10" Adjustable
Post by: 3baygarage on May 11, 2016, 02:37:39 PM
Hey guys. Found this W & B adjustable the other day. Thought I would post it.

Most W & B I see are of the vertical screw variety or other.

Nice! I gotta confess I'm not familiar with the brand. Did they make a large variety of tools & wrenches?

Yes, they had a ton of old wrenches. S curve, Alligator, Adjustable monkey wrenches (a lot of wood handle), bicycle adjustables, curved adjustable and otherwise.

I'm not too sure the history but I think they had facilities in different cities, and I have read that their Canadian plant was sold to JH Williams in 1902.

Some wrenches had both W & B and JH WILLIAMS CO stamped on them. There was some relationship between the two.

I would not know how to date this here wrench.
