Title: Square shank Socket Wrench?
Post by: lptools on June 11, 2016, 05:42:28 PM
Hello, This tool is unmarked, 7-3/4" long, 1/2" square shank, and the 6 point openings are 1/2" & 9/16", across the flats. Thanks, Lou

It's not a socket extension but it is called a wrench. When used in conjunction with an open end or an adjustable nut wrench on the square shank you can turn a nut or bolt that is otherwise obscured. I guess you could call it an obstruction wrench. I have seen them in a catalog and have one here somewhere but I can't remember the mfg. I'll check in the morning.

Hello, Bill. Thanks!!!!!!!!  No signs of a manufacturer's stamp on the one I have here, though.

Todd
There are several makers of double female extensions.  Have to admit to doing  a double take when I see them becaues you don't see them often.

There may be more but Fairmount is the only mfg that I know of to make these. Yours although slightly shorter looks very similar. Possibly for a tool kit for auto, tractor or truck would be my guess.
