Title: Chromium Vanadium 662 D
Post by: Northwoods on June 26, 2016, 06:27:52 PM
One of my purchases today is a male to male 1/2" drive ell extension. Seven inches one way / 1 1/2" the other.
Marked 662 D CHROMIUM VANADIUM
But....
AA shows 662 to be a 1/2" drive 3" Duro Chrome extension.

Anyone have either of these--or any info?

Well, just maybe I can answer my own question--or at least shed some light on it.
Further searches on AA tells us that Duro offered a slightly longer ell with a metal clip helper model 660 back in 1929.
Mine might be a slightly shorter version of it.
I'm still not sure the mystery is completely solved, though.

Huh, never seen anything like that. Kinda puts me in mind of a big allen wrench.

I'm guessing that the metal clip/handle goes missing and then....

Yep, I was thinking the same thing.

Hello, I found this one yesterday. It is stamped 4086 BONNEY CHROME VANADIUM MADE IN USA.  It was not listed in Alloy Artifacts, but I found a picture of it from a catalog page posted a while ago in Tool Talk. Regards, Lou

Yours is along the same line as mine, but I am guessing yours is larger.

But I picked up a really nice relative to yours just yesterday:
12 1/4"  breaker bar, 1/2" drive.
3/8" hole in the handle to accept a T-bar.
1/2" round (not square) hole in the tip of the handle to insert an indent ball for the T-bar.

4096B BONNEY CV (in a circle) MADE IN U.S.A.
