Title: Attention Facebook Users
Post by: Papaw on July 18, 2016, 07:59:07 PM
For those of us that use Facebook, there are pages where we can buy and sell old stuff like we like to collect.
One of them is a place to buy or sell ANY OLD wrench.

I spend way to much time on there now!  Just started a Victor, Edison, other hand crank record player group. along with about 20 other groups and sub groups. Some might like the Vintage pedal & treadle tools group. Sorry I will have to send a link if someone is interested, just closed it down thought I'd check here before turning the computer off.

The page is now set up for auctions also. Some very loose rules of course.

Papaw, you stated on a listing over there that the Richards Wizard ratchet wrench came in 2 sizes what are they? I've only ever seen the 8 inch size before.

I don't have confirmation of that, but when I bought the one I have, another guy at that meet said he had a longer one. Might have been Lynn Dowd. I will ask him.

Joseph Noyer has 2 patents, the December 13, 1904 patent #777,389 was for a larger wrench similar to the Wizard but was supposedly for railroad track work. The May 21,1907 patent 854,174 was for the Wizard style. Perhaps he had one of the earlier ones.

I checked with Lynn. He didn't tell me that, so I must have been mistaken. I did see the other patent and it is much larger and was noted as not having been produced.
