Title: awl with a twist
Post by: PFSchaffner on August 31, 2016, 12:54:39 PM
I somehow can't place this, even to the right sphere (textiles?
cooking? oakum-pulling? )  Not all that robust, and probably not
old either.

Are those file teeth on the hooked end?  Maybe a repurposed dental tool?

No teeth, just a point; and pretty long (12" - 14" ?). Has the
feel of something you'd twist into something soft to get a grip
on it and pull it out, cork-screw-like.

I've seen steak flippers with the same hook configuration, but they usually sturdier.
