Title: A little too rich for me
Post by: Northwoods on October 14, 2016, 03:12:02 PM
I need a 3/8" Pebble Combo, but this is a little high.
With four days to go.  It'll be fun to watch, though.

It actually doesn't seem a totally unrealistic price. Some people really like the pebble finish plomb stuff. With that they seem to pay high for it. I personally find the pebble stuff interesting but currently dont have any.

I had a plumb pebble finish flare nut wrench set that I got 240 for. I wouldn't of paid that but it's worth it to some people. I guess we all spend are money differently an it's a individual choice. I mean I laugh when people spend money to lower there Honda Civic to the point it can't go over a speed bump an put 10 subwoofers in it. The same person who does that probably laughs at me for the amount of money I spend on tools, an the fact I haven't washed my truck for months. To each there own I guess.

After looking at some for sale prices on ebay, I have to agree with you.
But then today I got a nice 5/8 by 11/16" open end pebble, a shiny WF-81 Plomb box end in 1/2 by 9/16" and   WF-75 Plomb 9/16" wobble socket in 3/8 drive and this Woodsmith Special Edition woodworking square for a combined price of $3.25.
I like my bargains.

I agree, I deffintly like my bargains. Hunting down a tool is fun an a good deal makes it even better.

However I will pay above value if it's rare or something special that I really want.

What are you into right now?  I grab what I can find and worry about whether I want/need it later--if the price is right.  I would like to get some old Craftsman rats.

BTW, did you notice that ebay has several A PLOMB wrenches and speeders now?

Those small sizes are tougher to find so I can see why it is so much more.
