It's rough, dirty and beat to h**l are they worth making a new handle and ???
I don't have any others so I was thinking a wall hanger in the pedal and treadle shed.
It isn't like I don't have 1000's of projects, but I get into the streaks of handle making and other things.
Yes the iron part of the handle need straightening, no problem with heating it in the forge and straightening it out. Some are simple some are a "bleeeeeeeeeeping" pain in the arse.
The pin holding the pipe gripping "tooth" in the jaw along with the rest of the style point to Bemis & Call. In my opinion, given the overall rough shape & the relatively low prices these things bring on the auctions I'm familiar with, it is toast. I've tossed some from dad's left-overs into the scrap metal "bins," or if you have an artistic bent you could turn it into one of those "critters."
I agree with Stan to a point, but if you want to rehandle it go ahead. It will be a good easy project.

Some how I lack the artist gene and got 2 fart genes!
I won't throw it away, I've got lots of buckets full of old iron junk just in case I need something.
Thanks for the feedback!
