Great toolbox my neighbor put out for a garage sale, hoping to see if anyone has some information as to how old it is and get an idea of value.

Welcome to Tool Talk!
That is a nice box!
Here is the Wiki on Owatonna- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OTC_Tool_Company (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OTC_Tool_Company)
And they are mentioned on Alloy Artifacts- http://alloy-artifacts.org/owatonna-tool-company.html (http://alloy-artifacts.org/owatonna-tool-company.html) , but no mention of tool boxes.

I have an old OTC catalog, but there is no date on it. It shows the shield logo on the catalog pages, but the toolboxes have a round logo decal on them. It looks like yours is probably a later version of the No. 110 Standard Mechanics Chest. What are the dimensions of yours? '
The one in my catalog has a different style lid/cover, but it has the right number of drawers and looks about the right size. It appears that you may be missing a pull out tool tray that was in the top.
My catalog lists the 110 as 22L x 8 1/4W x 9 1/2"D with 21"L drawers with depths of 1 1/2, 2, and 3.
I have a similar Craftsman with that style lid that I do not really like.

The shield logo runs from about 1945-74. Design of the box suggests 1950's.

That's a score!

Ive got a copy of his big brother which came from a tag sale a few years ago but no info on date of manufacture.
-
Your big brother is called the Deluxe Mechanics Chest in the catalog. It should also have a removable tray in the top.

Very nice boxes. I have a Kennedy box with that style of lid. I believe i also have a Plomb box with that style of lid.

Yeah couldn't track down the pull out tray unfortunately. I tracked down the 110 and yeah looks to be a older version. Outer Dimensions are 24"W x 10.5"H x 10" Deep
Is this the catalog you have?

Wonder what they were trying to make work with the design. More access?
