Title: Two Hooks
Post by: Papaw on February 18, 2017, 11:23:18 AM
I should use the search function, but without a name I won't. Does anyone know what these are and any other info? They swivel and are about 7 inches long.

just like those used on the farm to tie burlap bags.

I have one like that with a wood handle plus one that you pull and it twist the wire,

almost like the one used to safety wire parts on aircraft engines.

I've used them for tying rebar, and they work really good, but they are a PITA because the pre-made wires come in a big roll and you need to remove each wire from the roll and then you need to wear a pouch to hold them in. They get all tangled up and are just clumsy. No one who ties bar for a living would use them for long. And the new ones they sell now don't even have a pointy hook, so that would even be worse.

They are also used to tie burlap bags closed too with the pre-made tie wires that have the loops on the ends.

This is exactly why Tool Talk has a What's-It Forum!
