Do any of you know whose logo this is? On a pair of 6 1/2" pliers.

Wow! Strange timing.  I was looking at a large pair of pliers I found on the side of the road a few years back. It has the same logo.

Almost looks like a Mum, a symbol of the Emperor of Japan. Mum is short for chrysanthemum the the flower. The Mum symbol was marked on Japanese rifles during WWII meant  that the rifle belonged to the Emperor. Rifles surrendered by the Japanese had the mum removed to save face. A Mum symbol had 16 pedals.  Rifles with the Mum symbol intact are highly collectable. Ok class that's today's history lesson. I want you to read pages 34 thru---------------------------------

Dr. Honda.

I've seen the logo before and wondered the same.  I know Pritzlaff Hardware used a small similar version of it on some of their tools.

There is something non-American about the symbol.  Not in-American, mind you, but non-American.
That said, it will likely turn out to be from Ohio or Mass....

Worth used a similar logo.  They were an economy brand of Pexto.  I have an old Worth flyer around here somewhere.  I will try to find it and see if the logos are the same.  I have seen marks like that on other tools that were not Worth.

Edit:  My catalog shows a very similar logo, but it is filled in with black ink on the page.  I think they were outlined/open figures on the tools stamps like yours.  The next time I see one that has both Worth and the logo on it, I will try to post about it.

The pliers are on Ebay. I must be crazy! I just bid $1 just because of the marking!

Welcome to the asylum Mr. Papaw. As you know we must be crazy to be here in the first place. Nurse 9/32 drive Ratchet will be along in a few minutes to give us our meds. That loud noise you hear upstairs is the sound of a 1900's machine shop line shafts that power all the lathes, drill presses, scrapers and grinders. That fellow running the lathe is Mr. Ford. He keeps babbling about how he is going to change the world. He is one of the worst. Cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo. 3 o'clock boys. Shut her down. Time for lunch. Aw crap, Spam again.

Well I saw this earlier and knew it looked familiar.  Couldn't place it right away. But went out and looked just now, there is a pair of those pliers in the tool tray of Dad's Ferguson TO-20.  They were in it when we brought it home from the auction.  No other markings I could see though.

I wonder if the pliers are a Ferguson  , a Pexto, or a Tryon Plane tool.

Another vote for Pritzlaff store/distributor branded.  Maybe a cheaper line with just the logo and no name??

Yes, just the logo. They are on the dashboard of my truck so I can ask anyone I see that might know the logo.

I'm fairly certain it has been determined that those are Worth.  Pritzlaff tools usually have their name stamped into them.

That star is similar to American Beauty. Have a metal plane with the markings and a pliers with the same in another post.
