Title: How to pronounce Kraeuter

I have always  said Krauter as in   sauerkraut

buy maybe krooter? as is rooter?

Krater like  crater??

what say you folks??

I suspect the spelling is an Anglicization of "Kräuter," in which case Leg17 is close to correct.  I will admit I had to look it up, but the pronunciation is close to the sound in "boiling," but a little tighter.

Is this like the story about why more crows in Massachusetts are killed by trucks than by cars because crows can pronounce "caw" but not truck?
