Hello, I found this hanging on a garage wall this morning. I tried to research another example, but all I found were 8" and 10" sizes. This one is a beast, marked 18" on the handle, overall length is 19-3/4". What I am wondering is how common is this size? And is the red paint original? There is no overspray on the faces that shouldn't have paint. Thanks, Lou
I have not seen that size, and never have seen one painted. Might have been a shop tool and painted for identification.

I have a collection of " One handers" , many Master wrenches , but I never saw one that big.
I guess it gives me a reason to keep looking , I have 2/3 of each size up to 10"
Lou, the 18 is the largest size and arguably the scarcest. I have had 2 of them and neither was painted. All I have seen are dark, like a black oxide coating. I have several of the 6 in. ones and don't see them much anymore, in fact I haven't seen any sizes lately.

And a light stamping: STICKLE BACK
6" and 8" with teeth; 10" without.
Had a couple of Hellers but traded them for a nice Plierench.

Hello, Is it spelled as one word? Stickleback is a species of fish. I am guessing it is a logo for German made tools? I have one here that is marked TEC imports Stickleback Made in Occ. Germany. Regards, Lou

No. It is two words. One above the other. You can see it in the third photo here:

if you google; German tools with stickleback on them, many examples are shown, and STICKLEBACK is used as one word.
it is possible that on that wrench where it is broken up into a word over the other, it may have been too long to put on one line,
but the space may have been there to double deck it.
