Found another oldie lurking in my garage. The cone is copper, the tube and screen are brass.
Because of the collar, I believe this funnel has a special purpose, (antique car firewall mount?).
I scoured the web and searched this site, no luck. It had a ring attached to the top of the cone
at one time.

I thought it might have been for black powder 'till I saw the screen in the second picture.

I've got one. Don't know what it's for, don't care.

Screen is used to size black powder grains. I use mostly 2F or 3F depending what I can find.

Thanks for the responses.
Found lots of black powder funnels on the net, none had the notched(?) collar.
Was this for a particular flask or horn? Also, the screen is soldered into the cone,
perhaps for use with one size grain only?

Maybe a non sparking funnel to be used around flammable liquids or gases ?

The collar allows the funnel to vent. No burbs of air. The ring at the top was probably for splash back. It may have been for a particular piece of equipment, hard to tell without size info & even then, who knows?
