1.5" wide edge ,4.5" long,,not a clue

If it had a straight edge I would say a poor example of a dough scraper. With that edge I have no clue.

Is the square shank consistent in dimensions over its length? If so, I'm wondering if it's an old-style bench stop for planing, such as you find on the Roubo and other 17th/18th-century benches. A couple of pictures:

Where is WV? He had one, I seen the pic of it on the "google machine".

I had to get a regular job, so I have not been on here as much lately. I have been out of town a lot in my work travels all over WV.
I think it is a bench stop, but it also looks similar to croze plane blades.
