Title: Cast clampy thingy
Post by: Argyfoe on November 05, 2017, 04:00:17 PM
This was in a lot of woodworking tools I bought.  Its cast iron with japanning.  The clampy part has cast angled grooves in it, as shown by the writing implements.  I've been around allot of metal/wood/fab tools in my life, and I have no friggin clue.

Cheers,
Bill

It looks like it could be part of a combination plane. The screws could have held a piece of rosewood as on a Stanley 45, etc.  Or not.
