Title: What in the world...
Post by: garwein on November 11, 2017, 02:12:29 PM
Picked this block of wood with handle and spikes on one side yesterday at an estate sale. Wasn't sure what it was, so of course I had to buy it.

Any ideas? Some kind of lawn or garden implement?  A giant meat tenderizer? Medieval fraternity paddle?

Hello, I think the side with the pins would be the bottom. My guess is a large wheel chock. Regards, Lou

Very commonly found on utility trucks, in a pocket custom-made to fit the chock, one on each side of the truck.  Stop the truck, figure out which way is downhill, pull the chock out, slap it down on the low side of the tire.
