Yes, I know its a nail puller and manufactured by Snow. I'm showing it because it is one of the fanciest I have in my collection. It so happens that it is the first picture I have down sized with Paint. Hopefully I will now be able to post pictures on this site.

According to Raymond Fredrich's book "Nail Pullers", these are "hardly found". That being said, I got one in a lot of nail pullers at Donnelly’s this summer.
Again from Fredrich: "The Fulcrum Shoe is Charles Maynard's design patent no. 27,571 August 24, 1897. It was assigned to Dexter W. Goodell of Greenfield, Mass. The patent for the complete tool is unknown."
There was another company, C. A. Maynard & Son of Springfield, Mass, that also used the same fulcrum design patent. Also "hardly found".

I used to have a Bridgeport Hardware one that was somewhat similar.
coolford you almost got it with the pics, they could stand to be a little larger. Try 800 x 600 dpi, that should be about right.

To the best of my knowledge Snow made two sizes of nail pullers, the larger one is called "The Crown" and the smaller one is called "The Crown Prince". Here they are side by side.
Note: the last picture was 25% this one is 30%.

While this doesn’t really qualify as a hand crank nail puller...it appears to be a little unsubstantial for that work, there were some hand crank nail pullers that were patented.
What happened was, I was practicing how to reduce a picture's size, and I forgot to delete it. My apologies.
