Hello, I believe the correct term for this is a Tapered Reamer for a Chair Maker, please correct me if wrong. I am looking for help with the stamp. I can make out COMER & PHILLIPS, looks like there may another letter or 2 to the left of COMER. I can't see the P in Phillips, just a guess. Thanks, Lou

Lou, I looked through the EAIA Tool Directory and didn’t find anything even close. Maybe British? Or not.

Hello, All. Mike , I pursued your lead, and instead of looking for info on the bit , I changed my search to Sheffield Braces. Lo & behold, "Bloomer & Phillips", 10-12-1847 Patent for a Brace. Looks like the lettering fits, what I thought was a C is a well worn O. Not sure if the Patent is British or U.S. Thanks, Lou
