Title: Pliers
Post by: lptools on December 10, 2017, 03:38:01 PM
Hello, This tool has been bugging me for a while. No markings, fixed pivot (not a slip-joint pliers). The jaws have an offset to each other, one half of each jaw is thinner than the other side? Regards, Lou

It appears that the pliers are made from 2 identical pieces.  Probably has the lip on the jaw to give a wider grip surface.

No clue to the maker and I agree with Jim about the 2 identical pieces. My guess on the reason is that it was cheaper and easier to stamp out than having to machine a joint. As to the jaws , if they didn't make them with that extra width they would pass by each other which wouldn't work so good.
