Some might remember that a friend gave me a North Bros No. 100 box set of screwdrivers. Contents were incorrect. Now I have a No. 30 and two No. 15's all of which were supposed to be correct according to the box, but none fit. The No. 30 is too long and one No. 15 is too long and the other too short??

My Yankee Tool Set No. 100 calls for a
No. 30 Spiral Ratchet Screw Driver
No. 11 Ratchet Screw Driver
No. 15 Ratchet Screw Driver.

My No. 30 is marked No. 30A, and the No. 15 is marked No. 15A

Hello, Guys. My Yankee catalog states No. 11 Ratchet Screw Driver, with 6" blade. No. 15 Ratchet Screw Driver , with finger turn on blade, with blade 3" long. In the photo, the barrel on your No.30 looks too long. I will see if I have a 30, and a 30A to compare. Regards, Lou

Seems obvious that the No. 15's and the No. 30 are incorrect even though that is what the box says. Would appear that the same numbers followed by an "A" are the correct ones.

I have several different sizes of spiral drivers though I don't have any boxed sets.
Have two of my biggest ones in the work van, complete with the appropriate driver bits. I'm defaulting to them more and more for jobs - they really work well.

My no. 100 set calls for the same numbers as Lewell2. I have a bunch of 30A's but no 30's or 30B's.
Here is a link to some more information on the Yankee's.

Hello, The information that I gave is from a 1917 Yankee Catalog . Starting in 1924 the Suffix A was added to the models Nos, E.G. 35A, 30A and 31A. What is critical to the screwdrivers fitting in the case is the length of the blade, (photo 1) ,shouldn't matter if it is an 11, or a 15 , or if it is an 11A, or a 15A. The A suffixes do not classify a blade length. I have also included a photo of a No. 30A that I have here, 10-1/2" long in the closed position, should fit in the case. Coolford, on the 30A that you have, please check the the length of the tube/barrel from the bottom of the wood handle to the top of the tube that houses the shifter, should measure 2". Regards, Lou
