I'm not sure what impressed me more , the vise or the base it's attached to.

Now, that's what I call a vise and base! Wow! That's not going anywhere!
Digging that for sure. have a customer that would buy that in a heartbeat. Wonder what his price is

The shop looks pretty interesting too. I see an old Sun machine in the back. I'd almost bet he's one of us. A tool whorder.
You guys need to check out the Cleveland CL for vises. There are quite a few collector / hoarders.
Cleveland, that is a perfectly weird name for a planet.
Howard T. Duck.

Haha...what a blast from the past.
The base is probably filled with sand? With a vise that size cantilevered to that extent the base has to be really heavy. 300 lbs?

I bet there is closer to 500 lbs of steel in the base. And if filled with sand, which would be a good idea to dampening the "ringing" from the hollow drum, add another 350 lbs for the sand.
My guess anyways.

Good to know. I have no personal reference weight wise.
I tried to get my neighbor interested in that (he's got a barn; I don't). He said, "It's ONLY 7"....
