Picked this stone up at the local Antique Centre this weekend. Can anyone ID ? It its a most unusual pale green colour and feels silky smooth to touch.

Pale green is usually silicone carbide stone. Never seen one that big, usually made in the pocket size for breaking the edge on carbide machine shop tooling when sharpened.

I would say this is a natural stone not a man made one

Very well could be. If it is, it's very unusual.
-
So would anyone like to have a stab at what it is then ?
-
I think it may be a Charnley forest stone.

charnley forest - i always thought were dark green red red stripes ?

Not an expert, but it looks similar to a stone my late father-in-law had which he said was a Charnley forest. His was grayish green with no stripes, just a little variation if I remember correctly. There are often many color variations in any natural stone. I would try posting on one of the blade oriented sites.
