Just wanted to say Hello & introduce myself. I'm a Network Engineer (Day job) but I've been around tools my whole life.
Daum shame I can't change professions now, I still a few years until the kids are grown.
My Dad's a "retired" Body-man, (sounds weird & still don't see how he pulled that off) & my father-in-law (first wife) is a "retired body-man".
I've worked with both as a kid & actually learned more from the father-in-law.
Mr. Jones, would be cool if he's on these boards; would like to say hello.
He had me drilling & doing factory welds on new fenders at 13-years old. I sure miss the ole' Man, he taught me quite a bit.
Anyhow now-days (hobby; for now) I collect, trade, & restore old American Tools & Shop Equipment of all kinds.
Makers like: P.S. W. & Co., Plomb, Billings, Old Snap-On, Old-Proto, J.H. Williams & Co., Bonney, Utica, Diamond Tool, Heller, True-Temper, Collins, Plumb, Oliver, Walker Turner, Delta, Old Craftsman, Old Emerson, Old Buck Bros, etc.
I sell & trade to fund projects & buy tools I'm looking for in my shop.
I make weird stuff from minature 1/9th scale K&O outboard carts to furniture and I always have too many irons in the fire.
Good to be here
A big welcome !
I am in Alvin, Texas , just south of Houston.
Looks like you will be a good fit for Tool Talk !
My old family homestead is just east of you off of HWY242. Used to hang out with a few in the Egypt community back in the early 1980's. Still have a brother living at Montgomery on Lake Conroe.
Welcome aboard!
Glad to have you here (from much cooler for the moment, Ohio). Feel free to break out the tool pictures since we can't drool over your rust collection. :embarrassed:
Thanks for the welcome, definitely a small world for sure.
I've got to get some pictures together, I've run across a few
interesting tools a few of which I cannot identify.
Hi, and welcome from Florida.
