Anyone recognize this tool. Assume it is a crimper but for what ?
Looks to be about 1/2" opening, but i can't imagine getting enough pressure on that for pex rings and probably too big for most cable stops...
Maybe a crimping tool for crimping replacement fitting on cutting torch hoses ? We had a tool at my last job for crimping hoses on cutting torches. The tool was made from a pair of original Vise grips with two crimping dies brazed into the jaws.

Industrial grade ox and act hose clamps were about 13/16" in dia, but there was a smaller diameter hobby or home use hose that was smaller, but how much smaller I don't know.
Another possibility could be that is was for one of those plastic water line hoses that are no longer used like poly B.
Don't know if this has any relevance but this deep well square socket sold at same auction. It is Reliable Equipment Co Rel-Ed -16.
Thought maybe this was connected to electric lineman work

Another possibility is fuel lines - some fuel lines have brass ferrules that are crimped on.
