Title: Tools- Proto Toolbox
Post by: Yadda on October 20, 2018, 04:40:26 PM
I picked this up today at an estate sale. One small dent on the side of the lid. No real rust on the hinges so it came home with me.

You live in Missouri City, Texas?  If yes, your kids are selling off your tools.

Nice box! I'm a big Proto fan myself.   Finding a good, vintage heavy gauge steel toolbox these days is tough. Everyone uses plastic, which unless you've got just a handful of stuff, does not stand up.   After scouring locally for one for years, I finally found a 1970s Craftsman one my Granddad had, just holding hardware. It took a lot of asking, but he finally gave it to me. I cleaned it up (I probably got a gallon of gunk out of there) and put my tools in it.
