This weeks giveaway is in the Blacksmith or Woodworking category. It actually would make a pretty good Whatsit. If I seem a little dizzy, it is from climbing the giveaway ladder rather quickly this morning. The tool is a Chain Drill and is a duplicate from my collection. (Others have posted about buying a tool because you didn't remember that you already had one.)The one that I am keeping is marked 'BSV Corp' This one is unmarked. they are absolutely identical except that the BSV Corp has rather large teeth in the two jaw chuck as well as the usual notch. This one has smooth jaws. The way it works is to wrap the chain around a log, beam, I beam or whatever. Turn the handwheel until you have some force on the drill and then crank away on the brace or breast drill. If you are drilling in metal, use the hand wheel to advance the drill. OK you probably wouldn't crank the brace yourself, you would assign the task to a big, strapping apprentice.
Apologies for the shiny new chain, but I have been watching for some old chain for along time without any luck. If it bothers you, leave the chain outside for a while to add patina.
I'll have someone draw a name from a mayonnaise jar stored on the back porch at Price, Waterhouse on Saturday.
Reply to this post if you want in. GOOD LUCK!!

After dancing the ceremoniql tool dance around the fire in my feathered loincloth, my wife stopped laughing long enough to pull gibsontool's name from the 1918 Cadillac hubcap. Sorry, no photos. It would only spoil the magnificent images that you all have created in your mind. Anyway, gibsontool is the winner. Congratulations Jim. Send me a PM with your address.
Papaw, I think we need to give away some of the donated gold bullion in the tooltalk vault to generate some interest. 11 entries is pretty weak after 110 views of this post. Your thoughts?

Sorry, that vault was decimated years ago in pursuit of rusty old wrenches!

Congrats Gipsontool.
