Hi All,
I'm new here and have a small hand tool I can't identify.
Attached are some photos to help.
The tool has a cast spoon type end with a hole in the bottom of the scoop. Wooden handle. Maybe a part of a set because the handle had number 24 hand painted on it.
There are casting marks COX - 3 below the scoop.
thanks in advance for help.

I suppose it could be a viscosity tester. Maybe used for paint , etc.

Looks like a melon ball making tool, but not quite the usual shape. The hole on a melon baller helps release the ball from the scoop.

Possibly part of a Pumpkin carving set

That was my initial thought as well. Some type of fancy melon baller.

Does not really look like the sides are sharp enough to be used to scoop melon or pumpkin.

Very possibly and antique butter pat shaper

Grapefruit spoon ?
