Title: Teletype Wrenches
Post by: J.A.F.E. on November 23, 2011, 11:36:31 PM
Got these some time back. Most of you know I go for the small stuff in a big way and these of course caught me eye on size alone. But what really is neat about them is they are for Teletype machines. I don't know what model but Teletypes were used as the first computer terminals before (monochrome) CRT displays. The Teletypes were in common use through the early 80's at least.

Back to the wrenches they are stamped but unusual because of the raised lettering. Aside from cosmetics they are in pretty good condition.

Model 33 Teletype. Note the paper tape punch on the left.

Here's a link to some machines - some of which his guy still uses although with a bit of hacking to make it work.

I like these.  My mother worked for Teletype in Chicago in the 1940s, at that time they were on the leading edge of technology.
