green river works,both notches ,not exactly the same,curved blade...only thing i could think of was for glazing..doubt-it? number on handle 1540E

My guess would be just a custom altered putty knife for a specific project.

I have a old wood good quality putty knife that has been altered in nearly the same way, bend in the steel and a sharpened end.

I thought it might be a grill scraper.  I looked in my Russell Harrington commercial kitchen tools catalog circa 1960s or 1970s, but it did not have anything like that one.
