Hello, The first group of photos shows a very beat up Stanley 701 Magnifier Lamp, hard to believe that someone let the wiring decay like that. I bought this one for parts, there is a very poor braze/weld on one of the arms. The last photo shows a good one, I removed all of the old wiring, and replaced it with a 2-prong 16 gauge S/O cord , transformer is a later replacement. I replaced the fillister head slotted screws that hold the tension on the pivoting arms with socket head cap screws. Much easier to adjust, the heads on the old screws were damaged, anyway!! Regards, Lou
Nice job, looks great!!!
Hello, coolford. Thanks, I will probably keep the green one on the bench for a while, that magnifier lens does come in handy!!!
Another one from the Stanley Lamp Pile!! At least I hadn't overpaid on this one :cheesy:
I don't remember where I got this and there's no name tag (unless its on the bottom of the ballast/base). Has a ring type fluorescent bulb. I need to clean the glass and keep a bag over it. Gotta make a note.
There's a good overhead light above the lathe but without this magnifier there are some jobs I would not be able to do. My vision is not great.
EDIT!!!PHOTO!!!

My vision is not that good ,either, I can't see a picture
Looks good Lou, now get busy and make the other one just as nice!
Hello, Dan. There are actually 3 more with a base , and one without a base,( 6 total if you include the one for parts) !!! Still trying to find the proper transformer/ballast for these things!! Regards, Lou
