Title: Unmarked Duro ratchet
Post by: moparthug on December 18, 2020, 03:14:27 PM
Just picked this beauty up, the patent number comes back to Duro, but every example I can find has a straight tapering handle and is clearly stamped with Duro-Chrome. Anyone know the story of the flared out handle Duro ratchets, date ranges? Unmarked because of War production? Contract made for someone else? It's a 1/2 drive and 10 inches long (works perfect of course).

I have one that came with a Duro set. I checked with an Indestro expert and he told me that they were made for Wards. I saw another very similar one with Wards Master markings.

Nice! Bulletproof design, too.

Thanks Don, now I can start to build up a set like yours and know it's correct.

Jason,
I replaced the Wards ratchet with a more correct Duro Chrome ratchet with replaceable plug. I addded a breaker bar but I don’t believe that the set came with one. It has wartime D-I sockets from 7/16” to 1” and a Duro u-joint.
