Sorry about the picture, best I could do. The one on the right is patented June 10, 1902 by Henry L. Ferris, Pat. No. 702295. I tried it and it works okay. The one on the left has no marks or patent date. It has similar main components, but the main pulling section is just a long rod with loops on the end. Yes, I collect this kind of stuff. I'm guessing that the one on the left may be an early attempt and then when he got it right patented the one on the right. What do you think??

Here is another which I think is a wire stretcher, might also be designed to splice. Whitesel Mfg. Co. Omaha, Nebr. Pat. Sept 7th 1915. Came from a garage sale when I lived in Florida.
