Starrett Magnetic Indicator Base & Key seat Clamps , Union Center Gage. The rest are unmarked , good chance they were made by FO , who was a tool & die maker .
The beam divider/trammel point set, is the beam round or is there a flat machined on the top to keep the points from spinning on the beam/rod? These were manufactured by one of the machine tool makers but were often copied by tool makers. I started my working career as a draftsman and used a beam compass similar to this design. A local machinist in Phillipsburg NJ area made these as a side business. Mine has a flat machined on the round beam to keep the attachments from spinning on the round beam. They also sold a coupling and extension bars for their sets.
Hello, Les . Good eye , the round bar does have a machined flat top . In this photo there is a Starrett , ( at top ) , and the one made by FO. Brown & Sharpe also made a similar tool .
always a good day when there is a good deal on tools on fb, I must admit I am a bit addicted to scrolling marketplace.
Sorry I can't figure out how to post pictures anymore.
Hello , Les . I upload from my desktop , and I use the feature where it says "Click or drag files here to attach them" . This feature is not available ( as far as I can tell ) using "Quick Reply" . Are you using a phone? Or a desktop computer?
Great buy!
This is my set minus the long extension beam. Beam Compass.jpg
