Title: ETF Catalog
Post by: johnsironsanctuary on December 13, 2011, 09:21:28 AM
Saw this and thought it was worth posting. I spent my monthly wrench budget on gators.

Funny coincidence...

I've been looking for information on ETF for years. A few years back I found some basic information about the company, but I've been fighting a cold for a week or so and have been spending 10 hours a day in front of the PC. Yesterday, my focus found its way back to ETF and I spent the entire day working on this company.

Well, I'm happy to say that the mystery is finally solved & I now know exactly where the company was located and even who acquired it. But best of all, I've found a gentleman who used to work at the factory - he's 100 years old! - and I actually joined an online forum last night just so that I would be able to email him to ask him to fill in the blanks! My membership to the forum was just approved at 7:36am this morning, so I will be sending the fellow a message today...

After finding this man last night, I then saw that catalogue on eBay. It's the first one I've ever seen and I think I will make the seller an offer of $15 shipped...

It can be years between posts on ETF and now you've started a thread the morning after I spent 10 hours on the company yesterday! Remarkable...

Sounds like you better buy a lotto ticket.

Sounds like you better buy a lotto ticket.

I checked my ticket from last Friday's $20 million draw. Nothing.

The eBay catalogue turned down my $15 offer.

But, I am now in contact with the former ETF employee who is pleased to help and have sent him a long email asking for confirmation of some facts and for his recollections on others...

I should be able to report soon!

Thanks for posting this. Spouse bought it for me for Xmas. I have been looking for info on etf for a couple years and have only learned that they started in 1933 and disappeared sometime in the 1960's?  It is likely newer than most of their tools that I have. I will be happy to share the contents.

By the way, did anyone else see this set of chisels that sold last night?

First time I'd ever seen ETF chisels & I was amazed they could fetch such money!
