Title: Syracuse Wrench co.
Post by: crankshaftdan II on January 30, 2012, 12:44:47 PM
Found this while looking for other wrenches-think this was a forerunner of the newer fine tooth ratchet-1/2" drive and was part of a set designed for Ford with extensions and pressed/stamped sockets which came in a wood box.  This still works(Needs cleaning out the dirt and rust inside the head) maybe the sockets were made by Mossburg and the other accessories too?  Cranky

I never knew there was a Syracuse Wrench. The building would have been within walking distance of the original Franklin car factory and Porter-Cable building. The Porter-Cable building still stands and houses quite a few smaller businesses. The Frankiln plant is long gone.

Perhaps part of this set?

(They made a different , pretty nickel plated ratchet with cast sockets also...)
