Title: Grammeys... however you spell that
Post by: bird on February 14, 2012, 12:39:14 AM
I didn't watch much of the Grammies..... SP...  but, I have to comment on what I saw.  All of you know I love music.  Music, tools, and food rule my life!!  Anyhow, this girl, Adele, sounds pretty good!  I have to say a great performance came from Taylor Swift.  I like her.  She writes most of her own music, plays several instruments.....  she's good.  She opened for a George Strait concert I went to years ago.  She was awesome.  George sucked, I'm sorry to say.  Anyhow, Taylor was playing the banjo on stage at the Grammies ... sp....  no, she's no earl Scruggs, but she held her own on the stage.  I thought it was a good performance. I don't normally watch the show, but I watched some of it last night....   so  Adele and the performance by Taylor Swift won for me!!!!  Both of them got standing ovations, which they deserved.
I didn't watch the whole show.  But, I was very exited to hear and see good music is still alive.  Many of you will argue with me about Adele and Taylor Swift, but, they rocked it out!
You all know I love to talk about music.  I'm always lookin' for new bands.
cheers,
bird

Well lets see, its grammy. Plain and simple

I saw most of it. Some pretty good stuff and some pretty corny stuff. But then I am not much into spectacle Broadway type production so all that is lost on me. Nobody ever has much heart in that stuff, just spectacle.

So Taylor Swift was adorable, as always. If you don't love her you have no heart to love with.
She is just a gift walking.

Adele had better have been good they gave the girl, like, 6 of the damn awards and I think they were trying to make up new ones backstage just to have more to give her.
But she was completely outstanding and deserved everything they had.

The highlight of the show for me was, the ex, voted off the show, American idol girl, who walked to center stage all alone and stepped into Whitney Houstons signature song, the one everyone already knows, with nothing but a piano accompaniment, and really light single note accompaniment at that...
Stripped utterly naked of even the smallest particle of any place to hide or lean on anything at all.

And threw her whole heart right out on the stage for all to love with everything she had.

She was the bravest and most generous woman alive that night.
They leapt up but couldn't stand as tall as they wanted to, or pound their hands together hard enough.
 But they tried.
     yours Scott

Wonderful performance by Adele Adkins.
Spellbinding song "Rolling in the Deep".
Mesmerizing lyrics and the Orchestra knew how.   WoW!
