I have an 8" Harrold's Adjustable Wrench I'm trying to understand a little better. I've been unable to find any information on the company that may have made it other than "Harrold Tool Company".
At this point I have the following question: Was Elmer Harrold, an original founder of Crescent, associated with Harrold Tool Company that made a "Harrold's Adjustable Wrench"?

Where did you find this info? Crescent was founded by Karl Peterson in 1907. Peterson was one of the founders of J P Danielson, but left to form Crescent.

Apparently I confused Crescent Machine Company with Crescent Tool Company. I now know there is a clear difference.
Sometimes my little brain gets so focused on the color of the leaves I forget to look at the tree structure and bark.

I have a Harrolds 8 in. (crescent type) wrench, nothing remarkable about it other than being rather husky, and also know zip about the company. Don't believe I"ve ever seen another Harrold tool, hey, maybe its super rare and we'll both be rich! Uh, right. I do have some JP Danielson tools, pliers and a 10 in. crescent type, I has a 5/8 hex in the hang hole of the handle.

I have a pair of 6 1/2" Slip-Joint Combination Pliers...
I don't know much about the Harrold Tool Company other than they existed by 1943. They were formed by Elmer's brothers Samuel & Albert and the company was based in Columbiana, Ohio.
The company was later owned by Emil & Helen Dubeck for 30 years - likely from ~1952 to 1982.

It is husky because it is mallable iron, and bends like a wet spagetti noodle.
Harrold was making tools out of mallable long after everyone else went to carbon steel.
As near as I can figure out, his specialty was making el cheapo tools ;P

They are a little rare, likely most of them broke over the years...
There is some vague connection to Crescent machine co, but I never did dig up much beyond what LB posted....

I have some Harrold pliers that I am assuming are part of an early thirties Dodge tool kit so if anyone can confirm the time frame of the company I can either continue assuming or throw them in the next giveaway,
They are cheap stamped steel versions
