Picked this up from a yard sale on the way home from work.

That is one neat little wrench.  Seems like lots of companies tried to reinvent the adjustable, but after a few years give it up.  Looks to be in good shape too.

You have the early one. Mine has a patent number. Pat 3555939 Filed 10, 1968 and issued Jan 19, 1971. Mine also has the word HELIX above the patent number and 1.5-5 under it. Yours is in better cfondition than mine.

Didn't Crescent make a version of this for a little while? I don't have any of these but I have seen them in retail stores before. I think Home Depot or Lowes carried them.

Several makers have done those in the last few years, and Black & Decker has (or had) one with a motor in it to open and close the wrench.
