Title: proto 17 in waterpump pliers

Picked up this morning , proto 244 17 in  water pump plier opens to 4 inch. they are rusty . Are they
worth cleaning them good or do i wire brush and lube and put them in my work tools? I can find g244, j244 jg 244 , 244 g, 244j   no 244 only.  bob w.

Nah.  Not worth cleaning, so just send them to me.

Open to 4 inches?  Is this a new category for the 4 inch club?  Or are you just going to use them to see if prospective members measure up?

YOUR RIGHT THEN ALL I HAVE TO DO IS SQUEEZE THE HANDLES TOGETHER TO MAKE THEM FIT . WHEN I PUT TOOLS IN MY COLLECTION I DO THE EXTREME CLEANING WHEN I PUT THEM IN WORKING APPEARENCE IS NUMBER TWO  . WORKING IS NUMBER ONE. I JUST THOUGHT THAT IF SOMEONE HAD A PROTO BOARD MISSING THESE PLIERS THEY CAN CLEAN THEM.THEY WORK WELL BUT NEED A  BATH AND SOME GROOMING   BOB W.
