I have been posting on GG a bit lately, why is it that they have spell check and we don't? I know y'all are better spellers than me, but it might help my "American" english??

There is a spell check of sorts. When you misspell a word there should appear a red squiggly line under the word. Then you can correct it. This software is different from bigger forums in that regard. It is free software without the frills of Vbulletin. You should also be able to use a spell check program from your own computer to do the job.
get a google tool bar. They have spellcheck and easy search right on top of your screen bob w.

Good luck on American English spellings. "Kerb" and "tyre" won't make the grade, and none of the suggestions mention either curb or tire. Neither will plough give you the suggestion of "plow." Plow, at least, came as part of the American revolutionary spirit -- a deliberately different spelling meant to distinguish between us and them Englishers. Aluminium will suggest aluminum, which entered American English as a misspelling originally (no other language spells it "aluminum".
It is funny you mention plow/plough, I was looking through the early patent indexes yesterday, and it's funny, the patents use one spelling in the original patent, and the index uses the other spelling...I suppose the 1830's - 1860's era was the transition point...
I have two reasons to use spell check
1 my spelling is not my best ability
2 my fingers are size 10 and the keys are size 4

Papaw, Thanks all for the responses.
What I was trying to find out is that both GG and Tool Talk seem (to me) to use the same basic forum program. With their quick reply there is a spell check box along side the preview box, which we haven't got and I just wondered "why it was so" ? It's no big deal I'm still going to post my two bob's worth with or with out spell check an old fashioned dictionary still works! My biggest problem is posting photos and scans, but that is another story.
