Happy 4th to all! I hope you have all taken time to "take a load off," relax, and let the world spin by for a few moments without you in it! Yep, I'm back.
Have any of you folks dealt with the storm/ storms that rolled through much of the country last Friday. ect. ? For anyone that doesn't know where I live, I live in Nelson County, VA. As far as I know, much of VA (and a bunch of other states) was/ is left without power. I lost power and, of course, water. My parents live about 40 miles from me. They had power. So, before they could take anything in, me, Bean (my dog), Stevie, Mary, Emily, Timmy, and Annie (their dog) showed up at mom and dads.
Although the phrase, "Everything happens for a reason" often sickens me, maybe there's a bit of truth to that. The power outages caused unplanned "family reunions." Any family member without power gravitated towards a family member that did have power. My brother, his wife, and his two kids went to the beach. I still had Bean (my dog), Annie (Stevie's dog), and a bunch of miles to travel before I could make it back home.
I attempted to contact anyone in Nelson County earlier this week...... I could have loaded my car up with water and ice and drove back to my county. But, I couldn't get in touch with anyone. I did not know that all "cell towers" "Land lines" "internet connections" were down. Anyhow, for those that are still dealing with the after math of this storm I wish you luck. Let me know if I can help any of you stuck in the mess....... I'm assuming I'm not the only one to have their house "plowed over."

Good to here you got power and your ok. I still dont have power(at my aunts house. I just did a thread in the daily howdy section about my expeirence with the storm.
Gotta love those unplanned family reunions, never a dull moment in life. Usually when I see all my family its because something bad happened or its christmas but even then not everyone shows up LOL.
