Title: I need to repair a commom Pittsburg single prawl 3/8 ratchet.
Post by: steelgoat on August 10, 2012, 09:29:15 AM
I know this ratchet is of no collector value, but it has sentimental value to me. I need to know where the tension spring goes. A diagram of how this type of ratchet whould  be a great help. Any help whould be greatly apperciated. THANKS.

If you haven't already done this, then go to the first topic in the wrench forum that shows the inside of ratchets and how they work.  That may help you.

Also welcome to tool talk.  It is a good idea to go to the introduction page and introduce yourself.

The best news is, since its a sentimental ratchet, if the repair doesn't go quick and easy just take it to a Harbor Fright and buy another for 6 bucks, and rob that.

Wish all ratchet troubles were so easy.
I got a 1/4" Plomb pebble................
